Details:

What : Beach(es) Sunrise and Macro shoot
When : Monday Feb 21 2011
Time : Just before 7am, probably won't stay long so just the morning
Where : At the Beach(es). I'll park on Kew Beach Avenue
Bring : Camera, filters, macro accessories, clothing for possible soggy conditions, maybe a tripod

Yes it's on Family Day.
I picked that time b/c you can't get a ticket from 7am on.
I picked that location b/c the residents have always been good about street parking (unlike some on Lee Ave who use the 3 hour limit bylaw to ask for tickets to be issued).

I wanted to get some sunrise shots, and try out my angle finder and some add on macro lens (unfortunately, not a true macro lens...)

It's predicted to be -5 and sunny (probably not at 7am though).

I can pickup 3 regular sized adults coming down from Markham.

My number is 647 889 1183.

7 am is a bit late for a sunrise, sun comes out right after 7, there's about half an hour of great light before that

In my neck of the woods so I may be able to make it out there. Would consider trying to get there a little earlier to setup before sunrise (7:07AM) and as I won't be able to stay much past 8:00ish.

Jackson, I am a "Maybe" for now since I also signed up Janet's event the day before. I also have a full day walk with another group on Saturday, soooo, depending on how I feel, might skip Janet's event. Long story short, I am from Markham and I think I'm of regular size, so can I get a ride with you? Will rsvp latest by Saturday evening. TIA.

I will see if I can make it - lots going on this weekend - so may be tough.

What kind of macro accessories are you using? close-up filters or extension tubes?

If I was coming down alone, I would leave my house (Markham and Steeles) at 6:15.

I am using some Tiffen +1, +2 and +4 filters.

For those who need a ride, please PM me your approx. intersection so that I can get a better idea for planning.

Looking at the forecast, I doubt that I will make it to the Beaches in the morning. I will still get up in time to take a look at the roads and make a final decision then.

I'm liking the forecast so I'll be there. I'm aiming to be down there by 6:15ish to setup for the 7:00 am sunrise.

Doesn't sound promising to me. I had enough cloudy and snow in Niagara falls yesterday. i'll wait for a better time. thanks for setting this up anyway.

I'm out. If the snow holds up I'm thinking of getting up a bit later and then, maybe, wandering around downtown and doing some snowy architecture shots.

The snow has stopped in Mississauga, and the roads look OK here, so I'm going to head out in a few minutes.

Thank you Jackson for organizing this and for the ride. We didn't last very long (it WAS NOT -5), but I got to meet Jackson and Alvin and Dimitris. Janet of course was the trooper of us all since she drove all the way from Missassauga and was at Toronto Islands the day before.
Hope to see you guys real soon

My god it was cold. Lucky for me I had to high tail it out of there but did end up getting about 10 or 12 shots before the cold and having to prepare breakfast for a cranky 6 year old drove me out of there.

The much photographed Leuty place :-)

That's a beauty Demitris. The light, composition, lines. Just wonderful.
