I was just on the Aden website -- and I see they are now doing rentals! How long, when did they start? hmmm

Not so sure about thier "rental" policy. A friend of mine called about it a few weeks ago.
Essentially, the deposit is the FULL price of the item your "renting".....
So, not sure if you can really call that renting.

Henry's does rentals with full deposit required. I bet their rates are cheaper too.

Note that the deposit for Henry's is really an imprint of your credit card and if there is damage to the lens, then they'll charge it on your credit card. No damage, they'll rip up the imprint.

Must have been within the past few weeks as I looked at the website after the holidays, and it was still the old site w/o rentals.

Yeah, it is as Chopper said. They started up sometime in the fall or late summer, but only Canon so I lost interest fast.

I've rented from Aden 3 times now. They've had this service for at least 6 months now. They've got limited selection of only Canon lenses, and their prices are on the high side ($40+tax for one day or weekend rental on the 24-70) compared to Vistek/Headshots, but they've always had things in stock.

I would recommend.

Headshots has a limited Sony kit available, mainly the 24-70, 70-200. I wish they would make the 135 STF and 135 ZA available for rent, since then people would get a chance to actually see what unique gems both of these lenses are.

I think it's pretty rare. I would consider a lens such as the Sigma 150-500 for rent to use at the zoo! It's a lens getting very good feedback.

They could always just say, hey Chris ... show me those lenses you were talking about.

I remember them having rental lenses as far back as three years. They would always give me the lens i was looking at with "rental" stickers on it. which makes sense no need to unbox something unless I'm ready to buy.
