Stroboscopic flash to capture motion in dark environment, you will need to have a flash with stroboscopic mode (higher end flashes). Hoping to get some people with extreme abilities to model for us. Will announce the date and time as soon as everything is confirmed. Here is an explanation and example of what this is all about http://www.thomaspiteraphotography.com/ ... eedlights/

What: Night motion, stroboscopic
When: TBA
Time: TBA
Where: TBA
Bring: Camera, flash with stroboscopic mode, tripod

Hey PotatoEye...

I don't have stroboscopic mode in my sb600, but according to the link I could also try withoth stroboscopic mode..
If you don't mine, I am in for this event as long as time and location is good.~~~~

As long as you don't interfere with anyone's flashes, you're welcome to do whatever your heart desires :D

I've only done it using a plug-in "disco" strobe:

or by using the test button on a standard flash like this one:

I also have a sound trigger (as they mentioned in the link), but I haven't done much with it yet, and the experiments I have done haven't been to my satisfaction.

I bought an LED strobe at a dollar store, but I haven't tested its exposure yet.

Depending on where and when I might be able to help. I'm a kungfu student and can do some basic (I've been doing this for 2 years only) flips and acrobatic kicks. Is that what you want?

For Canon peeps wondering if their flash can do this:

Quote:
Flash units with rapid-fire capabilities:
Speedlites 160E, 300EZ, 420EZ, 430EZ, 540EZ, 550EX, 580EX, 580EX II, 480EG.

Flash units with no rapid-fire capabilities:
Speedlites 200E, 220EX, 270EX, 380EX, 420EX, 430EX II, ML-3, MR-14EX, MT-24EX, 300TL.

Source. Alas, my 420EX is on the naughty list so I will not be joining this one.

I would be totally down for this - depending on time/date, etc.

I have two 580EX II's and one 430EZ and would be willing to share.

Oh, and I also have a Nikon SB-28 which also supports strobscopic mode.

I am also interested as I would love to test this out with my Metz 54 MZ-3. I have just been playing around with the feature and it seems quite useful for certain things that I would like to experiment with.
