The season finale of House is being filmed entirely using the Canon 5D Mark II. I wonder which firmware they're going to use. lol

Nice!

Two of my favourite things combined haha!

Did anyone watch it last night? I was actually thinking some of the scenes in it (Taub and Foreman chasing each other around while on a trip) were filmed with the Mark II as well but I'm not sure.

Haha.. you beat me to it Carlton! I was about to post this :P

Yeah, I saw last night's episode.. nothing really came to mind during that Foreman / Taub scene. Tilt-shift? I don't quite remember it already

Actually it's probably that I just didn't realize it before. I've seen so many DSLR videos that anytime I see shallow DOF I automatically associate it with some DSLR + fast prime, even if I've been seeing those types of "effects" all my life, haha.

I hate house.... and the fact that it was filmed with a DSLR doesn't change my desire to watch the show.

I love(d) House until it 'jumped the shark' a while ago.

Very quiet here.. anyone watch it? :D

I noticed they used some challenging camera angles, especially in the "parking garage" scenes. Smaller gear makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces.

As far as image quality, I didn't notice a big difference. They really went to town with bokeh especially in the last scene with Cuddy and House. I think the DOF was so shallow that Cuddy's right eye was out of focus, while her left eye was in focus.

I hope they use the 5D MkII going forward :)

I did notice a lot of shallow DOF, and I liked the heavy use of shadow in the lighting.

I wonder what lenses they used :).

I couldn't really tell that it was anything different (other than some shallow DOF), which alone is impressive.

I thought it was cool, and I like the show. He's a bit of a dick at work, but is tolerated because he's good at his job ... it's a great way to work
