i first saw this and thought that it was pretty damn cool, but the more i think of it, the more i see it becoming less of being a good photographer, but more of being a good post-processer. what happened to composing photos? :?:

Composing photos and the purpose of photography altogether for me. May as well go back to painting with oils for all the reality this brings.

Dundas Square is rather abandoned when I get to work, at around 6:00am. I should take a shot and save on the software.

Meh... this is very cool, but not to worry -- Adobe would naturally only show the best examples in their demo, and soon enough every trained photoshopper will be able to pick out the fill patterns. I'm actually more looking forward to the times when this technology totally screws up and gives us something surreal yet ridiculous at the same time.

I am not prone to excitement over computer software and while I respect everything Mr. Knoll has done for the industry I find Scot Kelby to be a right git.

Yea, as a software dev myself, I actually looked into the algorithms that produces content awareness resizing (back in CS4). It was so elegant and simple that I was able to write a slow and ugly version of it over a (few) coffees.

It's amazing how the first tech-demo of the content-aware resizing uploaded on youtube can be extended to one of the forefront 'wow' features of Photoshop CS5. Koodos to the developers, they deserve all the money (and women? lol) they get for this.
