Hasselblad is counting down towards something, but no one knows what.
http://www.hasselblad.com/promotions/countdown.aspx

The obvious assumption is that they're releasing a new product that the majority of us won't be able to afford.

by the tag line under it, it looks like maybe some sort of on line gallery service or photosharing?

It may be a count down to a price increase!? That would be horribly hilarious.

H3D was around $35K when it was new..... so probably this will be in the same price range.

It's a "relatively" cheap $20,000 usd --almost reasonable for a 40megapixel, medium format camera with 80mm lens and viewfinder.

Or, will they take a trade in?

Add a digital back and you're looking at a minimum of $50K

$20K USD, so well under the Leica S2. And Phamiya's looking to have a body which is similarly priced.

They consider $20k a good point for an entry level medium digital format camera. I think that if they want medium format cameras to start getting adopted by the public, it has to be under $10k.

I have a feeling they don't want to.

That could have been said about pro DSLR's a 5+ years ago. Today there are probably more DSLR pro cameras in the hands of avid hobbyists than working pros.

Hasselblad is pushing for market share by reaching new untapped customers. It will work too... its got me thinking. :?
