When shooting tethered on Aperture is there a way to make it live view on the laptop?? or am I stuck shooting the picture blind and only seeing the result??

To see the live view feed from many cameras you need a video feed from the camera and outputted to a video monitor or a TV tuner card rather than via USB.

If you mentioned what camera you are using, someone might be able to give you a more detailed answer...my experience only comes from doing this with Olympus cameras.

That's not entirely true, most recent cameras support live view in-camera, so does manufacturer's own software, e.g. Canon's EOS utility allows remote live view on displays. That involves pluging your camera into USB. So does Capture ONE, I bet Aperture might have it too, yet I heard that Aperture is waiting to be upgraded, so it might not have the feature, check Google "Aperture tethered" or "Aperture Live view"

That's why I qualified my answer to "many cameras" (I didn't say all cameras) and "If you mentioned what camera you are using, someone might be able to give you a more detailed answer."

Camera Control Pro 2 introduced live view for the D300, I think it will also work for the D300s.

Download the trial and give it a run, don't forget to also intstall the update:

The iphone/itouch app used to require the pricy Nikon Wireless transmitter, not sure if something has changed.
