As I said in the Nikon thread I will repeat here both Nikon and Canon engineers have finally discovered that to make pleasing high ISO photos film grain is not noise while digital noise is ugly. I suspect this high ISO ability will make it back to lesser models.

Although I'm sure the D3s (and D3x) are awesome, I'm actually more interested to see what Nikon might put in a future D700s/D800 instead. Given that they put the D3's sensor and imaging pipeline into the D700, I am hoping they will do the same for the D3s -> D700s.

I do hope they don't screw up this time with the AF. I like everything about the 1D III but the reliability of the AF system really sucks (and the low-res LCD).

After reading the Jeff Ascough blog I'm thinking the D3s is going to trump it at High ISO. To be honest the 1d4 samples he provided look more on par to the d700's normal noise reduction pics.

Hmmmm... so tempting. How much does a 5DMKII with grip go for these days?

Naaah! I am content with my 5D2 :)

^ you should "get a grip" (... ha ha) in HK

Henry's/Vistek pricing is wayyyyy too much compared to HK pricing
