I'm looking for advice on a good scanner. I'm not a pro and don't need a pro scanner, but I think one day soon I might convert a bunch of negatives to digital, and a whole bunch of prints too.
My old Agfa Snapscan e50 I think is a little out of date, so I was thinking maybe something like Epson V300 or the V30.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

This is my understanding of the difference between the Epson scanners.

V30 - No film holder for you to scan, good for just photo scanning
V300 - It has film holder but only does 35mm ones
V500 - It has a film holder for 35mm and Medium Format sizes

V500 or higher have decent optics and are worth the extra price

I might be selling an Epson 4490 which is the same as the V500 (as I understand).

Let me know. If the price is right I might consider it. But for that type of item, I think I might just buy new.
