What: Colour Challenge
When: Sun. Sept 6, 2009
Time: 1PM
Where: in front of the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario), Dundas Street, between McCaul and Beverly Streets
Bring: camera, comfortable shoes, a good eye for colour

Another challenge for the TPMG collective:

Each person will draw a colour out of a hat, which will be their colour for the day. We'll walk around the Chinatown and/or Kensington neighbourhood and look for ways to capture that colour in as many different situations as possible. Hopefully it will help you to look at the world in a slightly different way!

The shooting part of the event will probably go until about 3:30 and at the end of the challenge, maybe we'll stop for a drink somewhere nearby!

Try not to be too specific though, it'd be frustrating walking around chinatown looking for celadon, malachite, or byzantium... lol jk.

Don't worry, J, I'm sticking with the old school Crayola colours (the 8-pack).

This is a very interesting idea. I may show up for this if I'm not swamped with reading for school.

I agree with the above poster--Interesting, wanna try it, but we'll see how much reading week one of school throws at me.

Absolutely! All skill levels, all types of cameras are welcome!

It has been too long for me going out shooting with the TPMG! So I will be coming out!

Sue, this was a great idea for an outing, and the weather certainly cooperated. I first thought there wouldn't be very many pink "things" to take photos of, but it soon became apparent that pink is quite a popular colour. Here are a few.

The colour challenge certainly was interesting and it provided a new way of looking at things. My colour was orange and here is a collage of some of the photos:
