Nikko,
Thanks for setting up this event. Hopefully there's a second one in the near future. I had a lot of fun :) It's too bad I didn't spend a lot of time taking pictures on my camera :(

No problem guys! I wasn't expecting anyone to show up from this group. Next time, I'll bring more pocket wizards.

Any how, I uploaded some pics straight from the camera. I encourage you guys to do the same!

Lubin, no worries. There will be a next time. I only took 17 pictures at this event.

There will be a part 2 Strobist Portrait event. This time around, we'll be bringing real models. High key shoot outdoor. Maybe in the Yorkville area!?
Any suggestions?

btw, check out the video: http://www.nikkophotography.com/nikko/w ... st_vid.mp4

Nice meeting you all.

Cheers,
Nikko

Nice shots!

In the future, it would be great if someone could take a few steps back and take a shot that includes the strobes in the frame, to depict where the strobes were set up. It is very helpful for those of us who are still learning and can't quite visualize the strobe locations.

I hope to be able to make it to the next one.

Here's mine. Thanks to Lubin and John, we were pretty much trying out gel packs on flashes.

Thanks Nikko, I'll be at the next one unless something stops me.

There's a more fitting red/blue portrait, but I'm hesitating to put Lubin's psychotic killer pose unless Lubin gives me the go ahead.

Go ahead and post any picture you take of me. I'll let you now after the fact if I want any picture of me removed. I never do anything incriminating or publicly lude, so I'm not worried.

Here are the only shots I liked from that night. It's too bad, I didn't try out the pocket wizards more. I hope there are more events like this one in the future. Thank you Nikko for setting this up.

It's a shame I didn't get a better picture of him with the red and blue gels; he just kept moving his face and as soon as I moved to compensate, he'd move his head more away. If he were being paid to model, I'd have been more annoyed.

The first one is perfect perfect if more of the left is shown. I can see that with 85mm at F1.2, that is tricky to frame .
Job well done
