Please go to the file section. There are links in the attached document that will give you all the information you need to make an informed decision to join a microstock agency.
Feel free to contact me privately as well.

Sorin, thank you for taking the time to talk about microstock, and David for making the venue available.

Eddie

^^ Definitely

The presentation was very well done, and I believe we all got a big jump-start on knowing what to do and where to go for starting out in microstock

Thanks

Thanks to Sorin and David, can't say if the presentation was very informative, since I already got into stock before the lecture. However, I was glad to find out some tips that I never knew about. I hope the ones who had their first encounter at the lecture found it very informative
To David, Having arrived at CAMH I spent a little tour around the fascility before actually getting to the right room, can't say I am very bright at finding places, but the promissed signs were hidden from my eyes

I think you're huge sunglasses block out too much light. Next time remove them.

And thanks Sorin, I have been into Microstock a couple of years. One thing new to me was the program you use for uploading. What is it called again?

One thing to note is that if you purchase the software there is an annual renewal cost of $39.99.

Thank you So and Dave for organizing the event. I found it informative.

I found the signs.
After wandering around in the building for a while untill I found the front doors then went back in.

Once many years ago I was trying to find a name. I couldn't find a good one so I thought "hey I'll pick a lousy name that no one would want".

So I took shutterbug and swapped the sh and b.

So much for that idea. It's already taken on dreamstime.

I feel your pain... :D
On some agencies I am fotogeek, on others I'm fotogeek4, for the same reason...
Welocome to the world of Internet, first come first serve.

Mike, I missed that. When I bought it in 2007, that wasn't the case, I have free upgrades.
I will contact them to clarify. My apologies for the oversight.

Thanks to Sorin and David for the wonderfully informative presentation. Great locale - I had no problem finding the room.
Quick feedback/CC: some of the earlier parts of the presentation were rather elementary. Sorin I don't think you need to waste time talking about the difference between film and digital, or jpeg vs RAW, or bother to mention the different digital imaging programs. Everyone there should have that information already. In hindsight, I think it important to mention that a callbrated colour managed workflow is extremely valuable - or else potential clients could be looking at something completely different that what you are looking at.
The workshop provided valuable info to anyone interested in trying to earn a few sheckels from their photos. I don't think you can stress enough how the photos that sell are predominantly those that cater to the clients: photos with a corporate/business theme....now if I only had a mini-office set with office furniture in my garage!

Thank you Phill, your comments are noted and really appreciated.

With regards to Prostockmaster, I want you to know that I had a chat with David today, and he said that even though the website indicates an annual renewal fee of $39.99, that was never enforced. I can confirm that, as I only paid once in 2007, and ever since then, I have received 3 or 4 free updates and prompt customer service whenever I had questions.

With regards to another question about examples of rejected pictures, I will set up a few Google albums over the week-end with the rejection explanations. Some pictures are on some agencies and rejected by others. You will need to send me an e-mail request to seem them, as the albums will be private. I will post the full resolution pictures and you will be able to download them and analize them at 100% magnification. My only request will be to delete them after you have finished.

Thank you and please keep the feed-back coming.

I don't even have a garage let alone a mini-office set. I do have lots of brass thumb tacks, paper clips and chalk.

I noticed there are lots of smileys on the dreamstime. The original for my tar is only 3 megs though. And If I crop it, it will be under. I was thinking someone, somewhere might like a "keep smiling even after you get dumped on" photo.

Examples of rejected files are now available. They are on a private Picasa (Google) album. You need to send me your e-mail address if I don't have it already, to see them.
More feedback about the things I missed, or you would have wanted them different would be appreciated.
