I just wanted to see how you guys use Lightroom libraries. I use it in an unconventional way (I THINK).

I keep a folder called "In Process" on my HD. I synchronize that folder to lightroom and it adds anything that I put in there. I go through the images, delete the ones I don't want (Just from the library) then I export them to JPEG or TIFF. Once I'm done. I delete or back up the original RAW/JPEG from the "In Process" folder and resynchronize Lightroom. When my "in process" folder is empty, I have nothing in Lightroom.

I do not let lightroom create and back up its own library. How do you guys import/store your original RAW/JPEG files?

Import from my memory card into Lightroom (by year/date) which makes a copy into my Drobo and backs up into another directory. My LR catalog is held on my local computer for better performance and quick access. I'll create smart collections out of these.

Editing is done in LR and CS4 for more advanced stuff.
