have a Canon 70D and want to travel as light as possible.

Just got insurance on all my equipment just in case. Going to Punta Cana.

lenses i have

Canon 40mm 2.8
Canon 50 mm 1.4 (don't really like as i have to move around too much)
Canon 15-85mm (took on last trip to Punta Cana- pics were awesome during the day...and so so at night)
Canon 75-300mm ( not very sharp and don't think i will really use)

Sigma 18-35 f1.8 (love the lense pros - sharp cons heavy)

What lenses would you recommend i take? SHould i take a flash? tripod? or minipod?

is there any way to lock a camera bag up to something solid so no one steals it?

Also:

Wife says she will not look after my camera while i am in the water with kids...so bought a dry bag with should straps. Thinking of placing camera in ziploc, then wrap in towel and put in drybag...and take into water...AM I CRAZY???

Traveling with kids and wife often dictate what you can and cannot bring, versus what you should and should not.
Never been to that destination before, so I don't know the crowds, demographics, or likelihood of rain...but it sounds like there will be water and sand.
Don't take a tripod unless the legs are sealed for sand and water. Instead, consider a manfrotto magic arm and super clamp combo so that you have ultra stability in a very versatile and portable outfit.
If you have a small flash you will never regret having it, but you may regret having one but not bringing it.
As for security, PacSafe has a lockable mesh unit you can use to padlock almost any gear sac and stuff... works well, if not just a clearly visible deterrent. While portable, it is a bit heavy, as it is a lump of carbon steel when not in use.
Have a good trip!
