From now on, Canadian photographers own the copyright even if the work was commissioned by another party

I disagree with this...if I'm paying you to do work for me, anything you shoot ON MY TIME/DIME should be my property. That includes wedding pictures, etc.

I hate that photographers hold people hostage for reprints with large fees on top of reprint costs.

For the record I'm a salaried product photographer, and I consider the photographs I take while on the job their property, not mine!

That's what contracts are for. This bill just lays a better foundation to work off of, I don't think it negates any contracts that hand over copyrights.
