I respect anybody who can effectively use an 8x10 for street use, or anything for that matter. I've shot landscapes with a Deardorff, but certainly nothing that deals with people or anything moving.

Yeah... Read that earlier today. When does the inspiration kick in? The technical characteristics of some of the samples were nice indeed but, as much as I like coveting gear, I hardly find that inspirational.

I did. I think my natural tendency to look for and apply a narrative to something makes me suck. I can do it with anything far too easily.

Yeah, I don't really find this article inspiring. Some of the shots look really staged, in a poor mans Gregory Crewdson kind of way.

One day the 8x10 may be suitable for street work. Future generations may have no idea what that piece of old technology is for. They may think the photographer is mounting an accordion on to a stand enabling them to play it with one hand, thus freeing the other hand to tweet the experience to their followers on their cell phone.
