A few years ago I clicked on something in Flickr and registered to have my photos licensed through Getty Images. Over the years I've received numerous Flickr messages from Getty Images indicating they've selected various photos of mine for possible sale on the Getty Images web site. I’ve never acted on them. Despite that, somebody (or somebodies) continue to follow my Flickr stream and send invites.
I've never bothered doing anything about it because I assumed they'll want high resolution non-watermarked versions (which sounds like work for me). I’d like to keep this photography thing a fun hobby.
I could be throwing money away by not doing anything so maybe I should sit down and do the work. I always put it off until I bought a new PC and upgraded to LR4 which I just recently did.
Of course, being a lazy sod I'm just curious now how much work is involved. I'll have to reprocess my RAW files without personal watermarks, they'll ask me to sign some agreement, provide them with banking information. Assuming I sell some images I'll have to declare income from the US. Does this complicate my tax filing?
Just what all will I need to do?
I just want to know if it is worth my time? Does anyone know what percentage the photographer gets with every sale?
Or should I just put it off until I upgrade to LR%? :P

My practice has been the same as yours so I'm curious to hear how it is going for others who are doing it. With your library Phil you could be sitting on your own stock agency ;).

Actually i think my flickr library is too big!! I should spend some time and cull half of the photos on my flickr but I can't even be arsed to do that.

I looked this up before,

"The commission rate is 20% for Royalty-Free and 30% for Rights Managed images."
