Hi everyone,

It's my Birthday today :D If you're a nice person and feel like giving me a little present, I'd super duper really appreciate it if you could fill out a little survey for me that will help me out greatly with my summer project. Some more detail, plus a link to the survey, are below. (And if moderators deem this more appropriate for another section of the forum, please move the post there.)

I am one of two science students from the University of Toronto. Recently, we have began developing a new photographic lighting solution, which will combine the processing abilities of one’s mobile devices with the versatility of programmable RGB LEDs: that is, we aim to develop a fully programmable lighting system that is controlled via a user friendly, intuitive application on your mobile devices (e.g. iPhones, iPads, Android devices, etc.)
What this will allow is the ability for us to create a single product that can cover a wide range of lighting functions, for instance:
- Flash and continuous lighting
- Color temperature adjustments (e.g. presets such as daylight, shade, etc., or custom Kelvin settings)
- Hue settings
as well as non-static (animation based) lighting, to perform tasks such as:
- Cross sectional light painting
- Lighting effects for video (e.g. a flickering effect to simulate light from a fireplace, or flashes to simulate lightning)

The possibilities are essentially endless.

As well, the product will be modular, which means that multiple single units of the product can connect to each other to form light rods or panels, giving one the versatility to build their light system around their own budget.
Before putting too much time into this project, however, we need to assess whether this would be something photographers are interested in at all. For this purpose, we have created a 10 question survey, and it would be greatly appreciated by both of us if you could provide us with some feedback.

Thank you!

Done - because I just recently bought a power supply unit for a new pc build and you described modular to me in a way that even I understood.
