Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a few places for printing photographs in the Toronto area. I am looking for some specific sizes and I know that some places don't print small sizes. The sizes I am looking to print are 4"x4", 6"x6" and 10"x10". Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Walshy

interesting to see who prints square format. Are you printing from digital or negatives?

I would also try asking Ruby at Elpro for printing services if you ever need it at Yonge/Dundas area.

Has anyone printed anything as Frameless Mounting or Photoboard at Posterjack? I wonder what the difference in the output is. One is paper mounted on a board, other is printed right onto a board. Any input on this?

Dude, if you drop by fotobox (on the Queensway in Etobicoke) I believe they have samples of both hanging in their store...you can compare first-hand.

Toronto Image Works is indeed fantastic, I just had a couple of 20" x 30" prints done there for an upcoming show and they look absolutely fantastic.

If you don't mind doing a bit of the work, the bulk printing option at TIW is not only fantastic quality (chromogenic print) but also offers a lot of flexibility at a very good price. Basically, the way it works is that for bulk printing they use a 50" roll, and you can use as little or as much of it as you want in 12" increments. So for example, you can use 50" x 12", 50" x 24", etc. You decide how much space you want, you create an image with those dimensions, and you lay out all the images you want to print. With the dimensions you referenced, on a 50" x 12" strip, you'd be able to fit in quite a number of images in the sizes you mentioned. Price is $25 per 12" height (so 50" x 12" is $25). You can then cut them out yourself, or you can ask them to cut them on your behalf for $0.50 a cut or something like that.
