Know of an upcoming event that doesn't necessarily require an Event to be planned but people may still want to know? Share it here. Some random examples include when a celebrity, or someone useful, is in town attending an event or an art installation or something like that... a thing or opportunity that others may want to shoot. Or even post here if the sunset/light/fog happens to be really good in an area. A really good example is happening this Thursday, January 31st.

According to The Fay Observer the International Space Station will be passing close to the moon early Thursday morning. Geographically I think we're close enough to have roughly the same view, though I'm not positive. If anyone can corroborate that would be nice. Those of you with long teles may want to check it out.

Can we delay it for the Nikon folks to have the 800 mil available?

We'd also have to wait for them to save up for it. That could take years.

Really short notice, but the Hal Brown indoor track meet is tonight at the University of Toronto's Athletic Centre Field House, 3rd floor.

Last year there was past Olympians and Olympic hopefuls.

Looking at the start list, the only decent names are Wurster and Hamilton in the men's and woman's pole vault respectively. Can't find anyone elite in any of the races. Should point out the lighting in there is terrible at best. Flashes are not welcome.

A TPMG Favourite

Cherry Blossoms in High Park have started to open. The trees in the valley by the duck ponds have only just cracked open, but the trees on the hill by the gardens are further ahead. Hard to say, but peak is estimated to be on Wednesday during the week.

The Wood Ducks are in the duck ponds at High Park. The Woodys are used to people and you can get close up photos with even short telephotos. The middle pond is the most active. Male Wood Ducks are one of the most colourful ducks. There are male and females Wood Ducks along with Mallards and many other birds.

Its nice to see you have access on the board again DG.
I'm hoping to get out to High Park at lunch one day this week for both the cb's and the woodys.

Thanks DG for the head's up - this was the first time I've actually seen a wood duck in the flesh!

Thanks DG,

I've seen these birds before at the eastern tip of Wards Island in the middle of winter.

For those who are not familiar with this rite of spring this weekend May 28-29 is Doors Open

Here's an idea of some of the places that were accessible in years past: https://flic.kr/s/aHskd71oiF
