The most exciting part of photography...

I need advice on getting general liability insurance. Which companies do you use? I need up to $1,000,000 insurance.

Thanks in advance.

Common insurance for on location photographers. Some companies/businesses won't enter into a contract without it. Covers liability claims from the customer or other parties. I.E. You're doing a commercial shoot at the ROM and you knock over something valuable.

Just an FYI. Some places in TO require more than 1 Million in liability coverage. The Distillery District was 5 million or so last commercial shoot I had there. Not that this is a problem but its good to know ahead of time.

Yes, this is the fun part of photography

I guess it depends on the assigment needs, you can always get the default level which I think is 1 million, and upgrade based on client's demand. for instance before shooting the 2012 catalogue at babies "r" us, I had to get a 2 million liability coverage. You can always check with a broker,

I am in no way affiliated with the person below, But he may be able to help you

I have a wedding to shoot this year and the venue (a restaurant in downtown) requires a 2M comprehensive general liability insurance. Any suggestions on which insurer/broker to go to? I am looking for per-event type insurance.
