So, I've just been asked permission to use one of my images for an event flyer (online flyer only i think). I've now seen previous flyers of theirs and the other images they've used in the past is outstanding so I'm flattered for sure! :)

Has anyone else had much experience in permitting use for event flyers and what compensation they've asked for/gotten?

Update.

We agreed on a price for one time use. Should be a cool event so exciting! Althou i found out afterwards that it is also a charity event. Ooops. Does that mean im a jerk for asking for cash? :)

Not really. Charities still have administrative costs, which is why not 100% of the money they bring in goes towards the beneficiaries. Paying for your photograph would fall into the same category as them having to pay for a venue.

Which is exactly what you should pay attention to when giving money.
Sometimes they have things that stipulate for example and donation under $50 will not actually benefit whatever cause they support, or things like only 72% of your donation will go where you think it goes.

Yup, always look into the percentages. Some of the charities that have been under a lot of fire in recent years show that <50% of the funds they bring in actually go towards the beneficiaries, while the majority is spent in "administration".
