A few more days to go for the reveal. Wonder what the improvements would be.

Edit: Found the updates...

So far I've just been buying upgrades but it's paid off in the first paid gig but now I'm no longer doing paid gigs so it's outta my own pocket now. ARGH!

The Beta expires march 31. If this is like lightroom 2 this might mean Lightroom 4 will be released in mid March. The selective noise reduction is a tool I have been asking for. :)

Horrendous = slow?

Compared to version 3 on the same machine?

It worked pretty well for me for about 2 hours, then the motherboard on my computer died.. now I'm trying to raise funds for a new build. Please see the Selling forum for some great deals! So.. all in all, I think LR4 Rocks!

Yes, the performance was very slow .. even just switching between modules as compared to LR 3.6 on the same machine (Win7 64bit)

Same with beta version of Lr 3, I think they still may have a lot of debug code in the beta.

Don't do video, no real need for WB by specific area, so I can wait till LR5 :)

How's the beta so far? Is the highlight/shadow adjustment nice? Wondering if I should get ready to spring for the new version in the summer…

+1 to that! I run LR on my work laptop which runs XP Pro and has 3GB of RAM. If I want to run LR4 I would need to buy a new system to run it :(

Anyone know if the beta version of Lightroom 4 will support current catalogs? or do we have to wait for the final version?

It depends what you mean by "support". It will recognize your current catalogs and you can process as normal. But once the final release of LR4 comes out you won't be able to upgrade from beta 4 to the full release if my understanding is correct. Also I'm not sure how the processed images done with beta 4 will be handled when you go to the full release .. i.e. all the processed steps will disappear? When testing LR beta 4 I just create a new catalog to mess around with .. with the understanding that this is just to try it out.

149 for the full version and 79 for the upgrade - it looks like they dropped their pricing.

Looks like the performance issues were addressed. Seems to running quite well on my anemic system.

Did you import your LR3 catalogue?

I guess technically it's "upgrading" your current LR3 catalog to LR4 (or even more accurately it makes a copy, then upgrades) but to answer you question ... yes .. no problems so far.
