In case anyone was interested in using the best correction software along with very convenient catalog system. Here's what to do and how to set them both up: PDF file here
the instructions are written for DxO 6, but should also work with the latest version. Enjoy

Ok, so it didn't work with scenario 2 using the DxO 7.1

Seems like I've found out why: Browsing of Lightroom catalogs and Lightroom external editor mode have been dropped. However, export to Lightroom catalog is still available.
