Definitely a cultural difference on perspective. I wonder if Canon global divisions accept this? They should be more careful considering there is basically no borders regarding media anymore. The only question I have, was this actually created by Canon or the poster?

In North America he would have been tackled by police ( or three soccer moms) after the first click.

My first impression of the video wasn't stalking but teenage crash, and quite innocent, I guess different mindset.

I see nothing wrong with it. Everybody is too paranoid nowadays but yet want the right to be able to take pictures of anything and everything when in public!

i think its cute in the asian awkward, teenage, don't talk to women stage, but all I know is this kid's got some cash... he dropped some serious part-time job to get all that hardware in like a few days.

I personally think it is too stalker'ish though... even though she's reciprocating

And at the library, and in a music hall, and at an art class. And then fill a studio space with a montage of this stranger

Meh. Women love the attention.

If you look good, you're romantic.

If you're ugly, you're a stalker.

I think it's cute. Nothing wrong with it. It's not an 80 yr old dude perv who's dropping all his pension money into gear and recording an underage girl. These actors are portraying what looks like either high school or early college students. A crush is a crush.

dunno. seems like some kind of art class project this guy is supposed to do, and he decides to use the hot girl in school as his subject.

stalker-y, yes, and where does he get the money to mount such an exhibition etc.

But I think this ad gets away with it because for some strange cultural reason, instead of being disgusted/creeped out/calling the cops, she actually looks like she's flattered by the attention.

The guy's quite pretty himself, so it might be she could actually be attracted to the guy.

Quite interesting actually.

Why is always the male eye that holds the gaze at the female body?

Why is it, in general, women are ok with a good looking guy ogling them, but if the guy does not look like a potential partner, then it's harassment?

here's the twist: that girl is actually a lady-boy and stalker is falling for the trap.

Sure on the surface and in this "artsy way" it seems innocent enough, and in this we all accept it because of her accepted reaction at the very end . But close to the end, I did think she didn't look happy. In the end it is an innocent ad. However, anyone that has had an interaction with a stalker or who knows someone close who has been stalked, especially as it has progressed in escalation would not see this ad as acceptable. I know at least 4 women including my girlfriend that would be freaked out by this ad. Not all stalkers start out as freaks or abnormal. I have 2 friends that have had guy stalkers in the past that did take photos of them. I got to see one of their collections, and it was a collage of photos not too much beyond what is in this vid.

I'm not saying this an unacceptable ad, I'm just surprised a corporation would actually put their name to it (if that is actually the case).

I guess it's all relative. In Thailand, as long as she's not kidnapped and forced into the Bangkok sex trade, this guy is being "cute and romantic". 8)

what they should have done is make the guy and girl both kids, like 12 or 13. Then the cuteness factor would be much greater and the creep factor diminished.

Paula Taylor is no way in hell a "lady-boy". i saw her in a mall in Manila when i was visiting and she was promoting her movie there. she's hot in very feminine non-lady-boy-like way! haha. no seriously, she's hot with a perfect ivory skin.. even my wife notice it!

That ad was the creepiest most uncomfortable ad I've seen in a long time.
