Anyone interested in doing a photowalk when the fall colors come out? I live in the area so I'm game for any schedule ( except late night ghost hunting :P )

Great place to go at any time of year. Unfortunately security and sometimes the grounds keepers have been known to try to stop photographers, all the way from "please don't shoot the grave stones" to "Please leave the property"

If you don't want to be singled out from the crowd best not to carry tripods or large camera bags and if the group is over 3 people then break into small groups before entering.

Moonlight and ghosts are fun!

My intent wasn't to stop you from having an adhoc here, because it's a great place and during fall colours they can't possibly kick everyone with a camera out. Chances are that if you keep a low profile and respect that it is a cemetery no one will bother. If they tell you to leave then just leave no big deal.

I know you are not trying to discourage an outing, actually hoping you'd attend :P. The link I provided suggests that officially they can ask you to leave but the management doesn't really have a problem with photographers in general. I was thinking of actually calling the number to confirm for the day I would setup an actual outing.

So come and keep me and Toolz company ><

For me depends on the weather and time of day for best light. For colour sunshine earlier in the morning or late afternoon you will capture my interest.

If you hadn't warned the OP I would have.

The issue is for profit photography classes being held on the premises.

Also some photographers have desecrated the grave stones by using them as a backdrop and props for nude and risque shoots.

As someone with family and friends buried there, I prefer that photography be limited and controlled. As beautiful a backdrop it may be, there are many public parks nearby, one with an entrance across the street from the cemetery, where you can shoot without issue.

Yeah, one or two photographers going on their own, no one would probably care; but as an outing with a group, I dunno. As photographer, who rarely observes these kinds of rules, I would say go for it. As someone who has family there, I would be annoyed if I saw you guys there one of the few times a year I visit with my mom.
