Heres a fun CNN quiz where they show you 10 pics and you have to tell if they are taken by camera phone or SLR.

http://www.cnn.com/2011/IREPORT/09/22/p ... index.html

Enjoy!

7/10.

Yeah, for candids and walking around shots, a phone can do ok shots vrs SLR, but when when you want to blow up prints, shoot in low light, and do much more intricate photos, the phone will fall short. This set was more of a walk-around candid type shots, the field of phone camera.

Tale the Phone camera into a more demanding field where SLRs shine and youll really notice the difference. Try shooting a concert with no flash with a phone or a wedding in a dark church.

Oooh!! I scored better than you!!! muwahahahah!!! jk jk. :P Some of the images caught me off guard like the one with the banana. It was a pretty decent image with some bokeh action.

Edit: Sorry...not bananas. I thought they were bananas. The banana looking flowers. :P

The use of such a small photo favours the phone. If the images were over 1000 pixels long then we'd easily be able to distinguish between phone and SLR.

Not that I am cynical about these things but I did notice a HUGE banner ad on the page

True. But where is the fun in that?

Its crazy to think that a new 12mp camera phone may beat a first generation rebel (6mp). After all, its a phone  ... and a computer, and a tv etc...

Some of the images were obvious like the ones with noise, shallow DOF, and fogged (plastic) lenses.

i stopped at no. 2 so i don't know how much i would guess, but i can certainly answer this...

the quiz interface was designed by:

___ a smart guy

_x_ a moron

the eleven unnecessary clicks per round multiplied by the number of people taking the quiz could power a small grow-op... such a waste of good energy!

8)
