This is a question from a film newbie. I have finished the roll and seems it will not rewind. Before you ask, yes I did bush the bottom rewind button in and am turning the rewind crank the right way. I'm anxious to see how my shots came out so I don't want to open the back. Where can I take it in the GTA? Thanks in advance.

It would help if you post the format, brand and model of the camera.

Yes, the make and model would help.

My old Nikon FM and F3 have a button on the bottom you push before you can rewind. Is there anything like that?

Thanks for the replies. It's a 35mmCanon A-1. I have pushed in the button on the bottom. I guess what I'm looking for is a place that any of you film photographers take your stuff that might be able to help me.

Colour or B&W film?

I'm sure someone with a dark bag and an opaque film canister can help.

If you're careful enough, under a good blanket in a dark room will probably be a good substitute for the dark bag.

Colour. I thought of that. Do I just pull the film out slowly?

Pretty much. If it goes back into the cartridge, you're golden. If it has somehow come out of the cartridge, then roll it into the film canister (and hope whomever you get to process it has a clue). This is, of course, assuming that you don't have refillable cartridges.

Check if you can advance the film by tripping the shutter. Just make sure your lens cap is attached to avoid double exposure. Then try rewinding it again.

Downtown camera can usually unload and develop the film for you. Yonge and King shoppers will also do it for you if the right person is on the desk.
