So, there was a royal wedding recently? Actually I didn't even realize that it had gone down until logging in to CNN today. After skimming through the many clips and articles on this subject I was left with two questions.

1) Who was the first shooter. Answer Hugo Burnand

2) How much did that gig pay. Answer unknown. I would hazard to guess that that it was free for the crazy exposure.

I know there are a few wedding shooters on this board. Just imagine how much more business you would get with the royal family in your portfolio? I can really understand the working for exposure angle on this one. If he did get paid for it he is the luckiest wedding photographer in the world... as if he wasn't already.

I would think it depends on licensing of the photos. If the royal family asks you to shoot their wedding, and they refuse to allow you to use the photos or make money off of them in any way including promotion, I would think he would be compensated fairly well.

On the other hand, if he is allowed to use the images for promotion or profit, it would definitely be worth doing for free. It looks like he's been shooting the royal family for a while, I would think he's being paid quite well.

The Royal family doesn't strike me as a sort to be trying to get people to do stuff for free in exchange for publicity. There's a reason the cost of that wedding was well in the millions (granted, most of that is probably security etc).

Can you imagine the tabloid fodder? "Royals too cheap to pay for photog!"

Unless he offers his work as a wedding gift to the Royal family? Lucky photographer no doubt! I'm wouldn't be surprised if there were non-disclosure/confidentiality agreements for him to sign and the Royal party have the exclusive rights to the images and can decide which to release for public viewing etc. I'm no Royal wedding photographer so I'm just talking out of my a$$ right now... lol

it's funny how everything is Canon, and a little Nikon strap (?)

LOL they are in the "pit" with glass like that. See pic #9 in this link to see how much fun media had. The happy faces say it all. http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2011 ... os/100057/

LOL!!!
Boys, boys, boys...roll up the tongues and focus on the topic. There are a few (very few) ladies still present on the board. I don't think trevor.nikon should make his country of residence based on juvenile fantasies.

I agree with PotatoEye, I think #37 is the most creative striking photo.
