Placed third in the people category. What do you guys think about the other stuff? Personally I think the bull fighter should have won grand prize epic photo! Thoughts?

me neither! I'm surprised.

Especially the photojournalism category. Look at any major photojournalism "pictures of the year" collections and you will see some stunning images, these seem quite unimpressive.

Congrats though, what did you win?

Enjoy your loot! Again, that's a great shot!

Congrats Tyler!

While I think some are ok I'm disappointed at the amount of post processing that people seem to think they 'need' or 'want' in order to make their photos "different" from the rest.

Just my opinion though - I'm no judge nor am I spectacular myself *LOL* - but I know that a lot of those photos, to me, are mediocre at best.

And, really, shooting the homeless... come on... that is probably the most disappointing "winner" of them all.

Yes, very mediocre list of winners. I liked the pic of the horses the best.

We should all pick the same contest and submit so we can go head to head. :)

I am no judge of general quality or value of the photos or what ever you want to call it, but I too was struck by the amount of post processing in most of the images.

But most of these post-processed images will fail at photoshop contest. IMHO, the ultimate post-processed images are those you cannot tell they are processed. I believe those images are living among us every day and everywhere.

My photo was first prize in the B&W category. I took the photo in early December and the church was located in Brampton!

Clearly a big "photoshop job", like certain people here would call that  I think your church well deserved the 1st place

it's funny how they called it Capture Canada and a lot of the winners don't come across as Canada related to me

Emergence of Quebec as it's breaking out of Canada's shell. I think it's pretty obvious ;-)

Congrats Mr. Walczak, I always liked your shot.

I quite like the horses portraits, other than that there are number of images that don't impress me at all, especially the grand winner.
