Has anyone heard about a serious dust issue with the efs 17-5 2.8? I been hearing it collects a lot of dust in the barrel. Any thoughts?

Mine had some dust in it.

There's a good write-up on taking it apart to clean if you're interested. You can dig it up on POTN.

I've owned that lens since it first came out (2007) and i've used it extensively since. Yes there's a bit of dust in there, but nothing that negatively affects image quality.
