Check out the following text and picture about 50 photographers light painting an entire city.

The original text is in Spanish but the website attempts to translate it using, I assume, Google Translate. It's not the best translation but I think you'll get the idea.

there was too much mumbo jumbo text for me to really want to read it. what exactly did they do? are those street lamps or just a crap load of lights fired off during the exposure?

Yeah, serious Google mangling. But I just shut up and watched the blinking lights. It looks interesting. Lighting up the dark parts of the city. Not sure how. But the kernel of an interesting idea.

Well, if you are too lazy to read then I'm too lazy to answer your msg :wink:
Just kidding.

There's a lot of reading and it doesn't help that they also kept the original Spanish text.

Basically the article outlines how they did this. First attempt, 2nd attempt etc.
Yes, they had 50 photographers go to their assigned areas and light up the streets with their flashes. What's interesting is that they also worked out the ideal direction and angels for each "flash" of light so as to highlight the area efficiently.
