OK, probably something obvious, but i dont know.

When you have a strobe set up outside with an umbrella (or whatever), the wind can turn the umbrella so it twists out of alignment on the stand. How do you clamp it so it doesn't twist? I have a socket with a flat portion which the screw stops it from turning it, but the lower part of the bracket is still another part secured with a cylinder mount so it can easily turn on its axis so the light is no longer facing the subject properly. I hope this makes sense. Basically set up your light on your light stand and bracket and you can turn it with the slightest touch. How to stop that?

I'm hoping there is an easy solution that i am just missing.

Any help?

Some gaffer tape on the spigot to add some friction so it doesn't rotate.

Ideally they should have a spigot that has a flat side on both ends but I haven't seen one of those. I suppose the thinking is that with one end having a flat side you can rotate the modifier intentionally if you want to, instead of rotating the entire light stand.

yeah, i was thinking of using tape.

Yeah, weird part is the top spigot has a flat side but the bottom one (that connects to the actual stand) doesn't have a flat side so it still rotates there.
