I just received my Ebay purchase, a Mamiya 645 Super. Everything seems to be working. I am looking to get CLA done and having the foam seal replaced. I am thinking of bringing it to Vistek. Any comment on their work product and prices?
Also, there is Comtex from B.C. which seems to be one of the recommended repair store. Any feedback on this shop?
I have posted on the Flickr "Toronto Medium Format" group and try to get idea where people go to service their Medium Format cameras but haven't received many responses. Hopefully there are some of you who shot MF to give me some advice.
TIA

May it's rather easy and inexpensive to replace your own seals, Highly recommend you get a interslice kit.

You think too highly of me :D This is my first MF camera so I rather have someone look after it. Plus, the camera needs a cleaning inside out.

Vistek repaired a Mamiya Super I had, and sold - now I have the Mamiya 645 AFD, they did a fine job - I had an issue with the motor mechanism that wound the film back - needed cleaning - and they also cleaned up the rest of the camera for me. It cost $200 to have serviced, but it was worth the repair bill. I sold the camera about a year ago to a TPMG member who benefitted from the Vistek service.

The previous owner of my Minolta Autocord had it CLA'd at International Camera Repair.

Thank you. That is very helpful.

I heard International Camera is out of business. Not sure whether that is true or not.

Anyone had their older TLR cameras serviced by Kinderman? They are in Markham.

Anyone have a contact number for International Camera Repair? The old number doesn't seem to lead anywhere. I think the owner is still doing repairs, but he closed his storefront in April.

I recently checked with Gerry Smith at Kinderman how much a CLA for a Rolleicord would cost, he said I'd have to bring it in to get a free estimate. Although I had them service my M6, and Gerry did a great job on it.
