So now that were just 2 years away from the end of the world, whats the best way to convert raw to Jpeg to send to clients. im looking for the fastest way to get the conversion yet i want to get a 3-4MB filesise

my two current ways are 'instant raw to jpeg' cool little extension to windows, but it turns my 5dii files into 1-2mbs... and someone might complain that its not big enough to print larger prints.

amd the second is photoshop/or lightroom... both take for EVER especially lightroom... import... export... like a DVD might take me half the day

SO is there anything you folks have seen that might to the task for me a little quicker?

Mike

I just use Lightroom. Doesn't seem all that hard? I just go into the library view, select the folders I want, do a "ctl-A" to select all the photos, and then do an "export", where you can set all the details.
I usually specify "same folder as original", but then select the "create subfolder" called "jpg".
Under the file settings, you can limit file size, or change the quality settings to change file size/jpg quality.

Once you start the export, your lightroom then does the conversion in the background so you can tee up the next activitiy too... if in doubt, get them all started and leave the computer overnight to process?

You can also create a "smart collection" in lightroom, and create a filter that selects all your raw files (ie. create a filter for 'filename' ends in '.raw' and date <x> y etc...)

From the smart collection, you can then do a "CTL-A" to select all the photos and do an export as above.

Lightroom DOES do one of the best jobs in doing the conversions with quality. Also, using the above, you can apply any pre-sets or mass change/updates to the files, or even doing conditional pre-sets. (ie. apply noise reduction only when ISO > 1600 etc...)

A good buddy of mine uses Bibble 5 and loves it. It is a similar work-flow tool as Lightroom and Aperture and the like...
