Was reading my photos on my CF card in my desktop, then suddenly it froze and said invalid photo....., put the CF card back to my 40D and it said CF not formatted.....I do not want to format it and lose all my photos,

How to save it? I tried putting another CF card to the desktop and it works.

Help would be appreciated.

You might be out of luck if a contact or 2 is damaged. There is content retrieval software available if the cf flash connector and electronics is still working. search: cf file retrieval

Failing that as a last ditch try soaking the contact end in alcohol and gently clean the contacts (plug end) with a soft clean toothbrush followed by a rinse with alcohol repeat the brush and final rinse, allow to dry and try again.
