Haven't been coming on tpmg for awhile. Good to see the forum is alive an well.

I'm fortunate (or unfortunate depending how you view it) to have the opportunity to be the primary photography of a friends wedding mid July. However my friend, and her wedding, is in Montreal.

As I live in the Toronto area, though I don't drive around that much either, at least I'm more familiar with some Toronto locations. However, even though I do go up to Montreal for work couple of times a year, I never really venture out (because of working hour constraints) to look around for photography locations, let alone the ones suitable for wedding portraits.

So I'm here to see if any of you guys came from Montreal or did destination weddings in Montreal. Perhaps you guys can give me location suggestions of where do to wedding portraits.

I did a few 2nd shootings before so taking pictures at wedding is not new to me. Yet I'm still pretty anxious, excited, and nervous at the same time. Perhaps some of you pros can give me some tips as well in regards to wedding portraits.

Thanks in advance.

She would have to walk to the top of Mont-Royal, and that might not be worth it in her dress?

St. Joseph's Oratory would be nice too, if it's not too crowded. Or McGill University.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, and girls. I've been extremely busy with work these few weeks. Practically I have no life at all. Can't wait till all the deadlines are done by the end of the month. Then I can do some more research myself. Feel free to continue to add more suggestions. The wedding is a month away and there's still time for more research of potential locations.

What happened to the 'man and his world' site (the old Expo 67 pavilions)??
Were they all razed? Do they still exist?

Good call. Parc Jean-Drapeau has some good spots if memory serves me. There is the Floralies Garden within the park as well. The Notre-Dame Basilique can make for some good shots and it is very close to Port of Montreal. Some pics of the couple taking a horse carriage ride etc.

There's the dancing fountains outside Jean-Drapeau Metro station but not sure how many shots you can work into that or if it's worth it but something to consider.

Have fun.

Didn't they build the casino where the Expo site was? i thought that's what I heard when I was there.

I wasn't too impressed with old Montreal but I had just been to Quebec City prior to that. But after seeing Toronto, Philadelphia, Baltimore and what's left of historic NYC I am starting to think it is may be a bigger historical cultural gem than I first thought.
