Have any of you ever gone out to photograph the rusty pirate ship on the side of the QEW near St. Catharines? I believe the place is called Jordan Harbour.

Ah, very nice!

Are there any issues in getting in there, fences, etc? Is there place to park?

parking is free, the only issue is getting to the right exit from the Highway, access friendly

I'm wondering if that would be a good sunrise location...

I think it would, if I'm remembering the location right, the angle that Potatoeye has is shot facing west, but the ship's perpendicular to the shore so should be shootable from either side.

I'm thinking of going sunday morning if weather cooperates (rain saturday).

WTF??

There were pirates on Lake Ontario? Surely that's a Disney-type Wonderland fabrication, no?
I thought I saw something weird driving by there a few weeks back. What IS it? Is it a themed restarant like Midevil Times?

I don't know where it is on a map but as to whether it can be a decent sunrise foreground object, use this landscape photog's tool to determinne that:

It's actually a ship from 1920s (i think) which was eventually rebuilt as a restaurant, abandoned and subsequently burned down. There is a long story to its origin, but now it's just a rusted wreck that belongs to no one.

web search reveals the story:
