Sorry I don't know what they are called. Anybody know of where one can find a spinning ride on a child's playground somewhere in north Toronto/Thornhill area? Or failing that, in the downtown/North York area?

One like this: http://www.funtasticllc.com/FunGoRound.jpg
or this:
http://cache2.asset-cache.net/xc/944589 ... EAADA93A34

Preferably a larger one. The thread on children's photos has got me inspired (thanks everyone) and it's my sister's birthday soon and I want to take some photos of her niece using one as a prop.

I think the city has removed them all from public parks and schools though. Darned lawyers. Just joking. I meant darned risk management departments.

There was one at Christie Pits a couple of summers ago, but I haven't been back since then. I still see it on the Google Maps aerial view.

Children's Playgrounds? Those still exist?

Does it consist of AC outlets and wireless internet so kids can play their Nintendo DS's and Sony PSP's or netbooks for their Maple Story or whatever korean MMORPG is popular?

What happened to kids getting hurt to learn a lesson? That is how i did it! Made me a safer person and all these kids with the safe perfect playgrounds are missing out on fun and excitement and life experiences...

I was going to say, there is one in Stanley Park on King W near Strachan. I used it at Nuit Blanche a couple of years ago:

Thanks a million everyone.

It's funny, at first glance the spin rides seem to have shrunk over the years but much to my dismay I realise that it is ME who has expanded.

I have a few to work with and I think StephenG has exactly what I have in mind. I want to take a photo from onboard the perspective of the spinning wheel blurring the background.

If anyone else does come up with any others I would also be eternally grateful!!

Liability insurance, litigation - the lawyers, erm, I mean the Risk Managers have taken over the asylum. But I agree, it was much more fun when the lunatics were in charge!!!
