I believe that it is not a donation but rather my understanding is that the University of Texas in Austin has the prints on loan for five years (while they are archiving them) and will make them (some of the 180,000 prints) available to the public for viewing.

Yeah, you're right. It's only a loan, but it's cool to see that the photos will available for people to see.
