Hey,

Does anyone know any great wedding planners in the GTA?

Not for myself to use...but for networking.

I don't have an answer for you, but may I make a suggestion?

Wedding shooters tend to be a territorial lot, in my limited experience. If someone has good contacts in the industry they are unlikely to share them, unless you're contracting for them. On the other hand, the Bridal Show is on at the north building of the Convention Centre, this weekend. Perhaps attending would allow you to network directly?

I don't see my request much a threat to other wedding photogs here and most would see networking a positive thing. What if I had a client needing a wedding planner? Would be nice to know a few good ones.

Besides, this isn't for my photography...working on the wedding film business first.

... and as to my comment about the bridal show?

I did a bit of researched and talked to some other photogs, they say planners are evil and take a 20% cut.

Therefore, the planner idea is not for me at the moment.

Networking takes effort for it to be worthwhile. Posting to a public forum looking for an easy source of contacts does not constitute real effort.

Speak to the planners to find out what they charge for a referral fee, don't rely on what other photogs tell you as a sole source of information.
