OK, now that Christmas is over it's time for New Year's Resolutions.

For this past year since I'm not a fan of shooting people (I find it uninteresting), I decided I would do something extreme and do a nude shoot...I finally got my nerve to shoot it in August, and although I took 800 pics during the shoot I didn't do anything further after that.

So, what do I do for the coming year (beyond shooting more nude/glamour & general people shoots)...in the past I used to do more artsy/fun stuff on the computer, while today I just do straight image processing, so I want to get back to doing artsy stuff.

I already initiated this by buying Corel Painter; it's a program that has "real media" brushes (oil, watercolour, chalk, etc.) that compliments programs like Photoshop. I can't draw or paint, so to use traditional brushes on photos using a computer is great for me.

Considering I participated in Jim Allen's "It's Elementary Watson" workshop back in June which emphasized doing some drawing/painting daily, this would be my way of implementing this suggestion without getting my hands dirty.

I've already got a head start on that one Sue. I've spent the past week working on photo's from photo shoot's as far back as April of 2009. I am now working on my Mill project and all of the visits I've done that haven't been prosessed yet.

I wanted to start on Project 365 last year but gave up by March. This year I will try a weekly and a themed monthly project.

Hopefully a new version of Aperture will be updated in 2010..

I also want a battery grip and a pro lens.

Alex IMHO I'm not sure buying equipment or waiting for a new software release counts as resolutions unless you tell us how you are going to use them differently then in 2009.

Didn't realize this thread was here ... LOL.

1) Start and complete food book project
2) Have 50% of gallery target photos printed out (a total of 15 is what I want, but I only know what 5 of them are to be and have them drawn out)
3) Actually take some vacation photos (which means ... actually go on vacation)
4) Get back to roots, do a handful of car posters

Anyone interested in setting this up so we can review to see how we're doing half year?

1) Experiment with printing on different types of paper;

2) Shoot themes weekly;

3) Use mirror lock-up whenever possible; and

4) Attack my backlog of processing, printing, and organizing weekly (time to get at that backlog) .

So you want us to spend our time to type the answer out just because you're lazy? I'm too lazy, just WIKI it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirror_lock-up

I want to add another resolution...not to spend time typing answers that are easily found via a Google search!

Resolutions suck in general, but I hope to become proficient in shooting things that don't involve an engine and two wheels.

To get better at photoshopping. :D But this one wont really make it.

So, get a new body, and lens set.
Get more income from photography.
Since I already have my holidays planned till 2011, research on the holiday list and take different angle shots.

LOL, my friend sent me that site.

While I don't like making resolutions 'cause I end up disappointing myself, this year I think I'm gonna aim for the following:

- do at least 4 big production shoots/projects (one is already underway)
- shoot more (possibly sign up for a GB course in January!)
- attend TPMG outings
- take more photo vacation trips

- I'm going to give the 365 day challenge a try this year
- I have this lofty idea of doing a giant collage of portraits of all of my friends and family for a wall picture.
- Get involved with some actual studio time

I'm going to shoot at minimum one roll a week of B&W, and hopefully next year I can make some prints myself.

My main goal for 2010 is to shoot film more often - at least once a week. I've neglected my poor Minolta for too long =(

My usual photo resolutions that never seem to work:

1. Finish the photobook.
2. Don't buy any more gear
3. Shoot more
4. Get rid of useless gear
