20 different locations. Could provide some good photo ops.

"Visit Nathan Phillips Square each Saturday, November 28 through December 19 for live entertainment and fireworks!

In addition, throughout the holiday season, brilliant creations of light will beautify the city as neighbourhoods and tourist attractions participate in the Cavalcade of Lights Festival."

Just a note for all those attending... last year we were all given grief by the security guards at Nathan Philips Square. They indicated that we need to have a Photography Permit in order to take photos on city property. Aside from the absolute absurdity of this, there was a contact at city hall (her name escapes me) who said that no such permit is required.

If anyone remembers her name, or has the e-mail that she sent out to various TPMG members, please post it here so that we can bring printed out copies of it to hand to any overbearing security guards.

Yeah, the annoyance of the security guards and the ridiculousness of having to contact that woman for the Wintercity event the following January were enough to make me want to skip photographing this year's event altogether.

Good luck to anyone who does decide to go this time around. :)

Personally I can't be bothered. It's not worth the agro. Let me know how it goes.

Imagine what tourists think of Toronto if/when they get harassed by the rent-a-cops.

I'll go if the dates and times are right. I don't even use a tripod.

If I did go --- D700, no tripod... good to go. But the fact is that I hate events with crowds! Especially when I am in amongst the fish.
