Hi All,

I was hoping someone could guide me in the right direction. I'm getting really frustrated with printing photos at home. I was recently sent a CD of all my wedding photos both in Raw and JPEG.

When I tweak them a bit in CS3 and try to print them the colors are always off. Either to light or to dark.
Im aware of all the ICC profiles to chose in photoshop, but regardless of what i choose, it still seems off. Now im not using any high end gear tho. I have my iMac and my printers are a Canon iP4200 and a MP480.

I know i could buy monitor calibrators, such as the spyder... but is there any way to get decent photos without using one?? On a tight budget at the moment.

Thanks

I believe the Macs have a built in screen calibration utility under your Display in System Preferences. It's not a Spyder or any formal screen calibration utility for that matter but it does an ok job.

I wish I could say there was a way, but I can't. At least I don't know of how you can get consistently good prints without a properly colour managed set up.
Think of all the money you'll waste in ink, time, paper, brain cells and you may decide to spend the $100+ for a spyder. Maybe a used one?
After all, there ARE you wedding photos...
