One of the most overlooked resources for photography learning materials is the Toronto Public Library. They have books, videos/dvds, and even CD-ROMs covering everything from basics (camera controls, composition) to advanced (lighting, portraiture).

If you're don't already have a library card it's still FREE, you can reserve items from other TPL branches and have them sent to your local branch for FREE.

And of course they have their own online catalogue system so you can look up items and reserve them without leaving your chair.

They also have an extensive list of online books on photography, under download books, music and video.

Main St Library has a ton. I have 3 from there right now - so much cheaper than buying :)

The Toronto Reference Library on Yonge has an incredible selection...
