It probably depends on the club, what's going on inside and why you're there with a dSLR. The big fancy clubs (the ones that won't let you in wearing a t-shirt & jeans) usually have in-house photographers or already hired event photographers to take pics of people dancing & having fun.
You're probably best off to call either the event organizer, or the club itself to see what the rules are.
