In case anyone is wondering, there is a CIBC ATM and branch next door within a 2 minute walk.

Well, various people have promoted the various shows for years, here's a thread you can backtrack shows since summer 2008:
http://tpmg.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8553

I've worn the orange TPMG strap on my backpack when attending these shows, and only a few people came up to me to say "Hi", and it was only people who I've met previously.

Also it doesn't make a good Ad-Hoc as people will arrive at different times, and once they arrive they shop at different paces. Although I've had TPMG people come up to me asking for advice.

To get to Thornhill Community Centre via public transit:

Thornhill Community Centre is at 7755 Bayview Ave, at John St.

The YRT Bayview091 stops right in front, and Milliken002 stops across the street from the Centre; Milliken002 is less frequent so I suggest scheduling around the Bayview091, unless the 002 is there waiting.

To get to the YRT Finch Terminal from TTC's Finch Station, you have to LEAVE the TTC and walk one block north from the TTC station to the YRT/GO station (if you're walking underground follow the signs to "Regional Buses").

Fare is $3.25 each way (in the past if you can get back on the YRT bus before your transfer expires, 2 hours, you can do the return trip for FREE, don't know if it's still in effect as I always take longer). The YRT station has machines at which you can get your ticket before the bus arrives, to save the hassle putting the money in the bus fare box; make sure to select the "1 zone" fare.

So if anyone wants to meet at the show, go for lunch, followed by an afternoon of shooting (ideas?), followed by the social, I can offer 3 seats in my car, 4 if you want to squeeze.

I come from the north, so pickup would be in Thornhill for the show, but i would drop off after the social at STC, York Mills or Yorkdale on my way home.

Before the camera show I assume?

There may yet be an official event, as per David's post on the January Social thread saying another org is looking into it.

Sue posted the official event in Oshawa at 2pm. I think that provides good opportunity for a full day event.

If you can't make the one on Sunday April 18, there's "The Big One" on Sunday May 16 in Woodbridge:

anybody going to the show on sunday? just wondering if it's worth the journey form scarborough, knowing that i'll probably be spending around $16 on transit alone.

i'll probably be looking for some 35mm zuiko lenses and slide film.

I never think of the expense. I just think about it as a fun day out where I bump into people I know while looking for treasures and bargains.

As for Zuiko lenses, if you mean OM mount you'll have a chance, but if you mean the 35mm FourThirds mount...slim to none.

Just shop around as prices vary...when shopping for a 285HV I've seen $120 down to $20 (which I bought).

Turns out I have to miss this one...had a minor accident on the bus today...the bus driver happen to accelerate at the moment I had let go of the pole to get ready to go to the exit. I can't lay blame on the driver since I had released the pole while the vehicle was in motion.

Nothing major, but I'm a little sore and I want to sleep in tomorrow.

I bought that Ilford package with 2 rolls of film + 25x 8x10 papers. Also bought some gigantic paper, that's about it.

I got a Nikon SC-17 cable to use off camera flash with my M6, an old Jupiter-9 85/2 in LTM and a large format kit (Sinar P with a Schneider Symmar S 150/5.6). Though the 4x5 is on loan.
