Must admit that I didn’t watch the video as I can’t stand people or in this case an artist that does not know how to hold a video camera in the correct orientation. My response is based on reading the few lines in the article
Message seems to be the same old, same old with frustrated pros not happy about getting undercut by amateurs.
My take is, for pros to stop complaining. Just because someone decides to do the work for free or charge a nominal fee, it does not mean they are stupid and don’t understand the value of their work. In most cases they've decided on the course of action based on their realities and what was right for them. I wish every armature could charge full price for their work and actually get the assignment.

Same as always. The thing is that as long as some (most) people can get "good enough" for free, they aren't going to pay for "really good." The issue is in changing the standard of what is "good enough." Raise the bar and it's no longer an issue.

The more that the medium (media) becomes accessible to the average person, the less value it carries.
