As of November 7, we now own the copyright to commissioned portraits etc. (Notice-and-notice is one part of the changes in C-11 that is not in effect yet, though.)

There has been an effort to reform and modernize the Copyright Act, including many failed attempts to pass new legislation. Finally after a long time.

well its one thing to have it down on paper but the real issue is legal costs incurred when defending your rights
