I prefer Corel Draw because they are Canadian. For those who use it, upgrades are available now.

Tough sell. Patriotism alone won't do it for me. On ethics I'd Gimp it before using Corel. Not that I have any intentions of leaving Ps/Lr.

Well how does it actually compare to photoshop on the usability and feature set? If it does everything you need then all the power to you. But if you are hampering your image quality and final photography product for patriotism, I think you may want to rethink that.

But I will add that Corel did just recently buy Bibble to use in its own specific photo processing program (similar to Lightroom and Aperture). And Bibble has always been considered one of the top raw converters on the market. Although at this point in time they are kinda late to the game, especially with LR's dominance.

Bibble is nothing compared to Adobe raw.

Bibble can only nibble at the market.

Back in the day it had more market (when I used to use it). Yes now it's regulated to the sidelines, but it was very good - at least it use to be.

I was going to joke and say it's packaged with Wordperfect and Quattro Pro and then I googled it and found that Corel DOES package up the Office Suite with these ... HOLY COW .. I didn't even know that these apps were still kicking around!

In all honesty I didn't know Corel was still kicking around. I thought it was at most a small office collecting on a small amount of IP. Maybe they should try Corel Linux again? That was about ten years too early. A shame Canadian tech companies can't hold it together for a sustained period, the seem to follow a Nortel Duration... or should it be they suffer from a Blackberry Bubble?

Nice to see they still use the hot air balloon for a logo, although the software hasn't been the same since they dropped the exclamation point from the name (Corel DRAW!)

I've got to be honest here, Corel makes one of my favorite pieces of software in the world.
Corel Painter.

It totally makes Matte painting a hell of a lot easier and much more fun.
Digital sets = Corel Painter.

I would pay very good money for Corel Draw if they made a Mac version. I can't **** stand Adobe Illustrator.
